Dr Christina Ambrosi
Christina’s qualifications in psychology enable her to combine research and clinical practice to support family and child wellbeing.
Christina attended St Aloysius College from 2002 to 2011, where she was an active and engaged member of the school community. During her school years she demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership and service, serving as a Social Justice Leader and receiving the Vinnie’s Social Justice Award in 2010 in recognition of her contribution. Christina involved herself in all aspect of school life. She participated in the Duke of Edinburgh Award, was a member of the Student Representative Council Executive, a Sports Leader and took part in the inaugural exchange with Pipalyatjara in 2010.
After graduating from SAC, Christina completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and a PhD in Psychology at the University of Adelaide, specifically focusing on parenting and child emotional wellbeing. She has developed a modified parenting program that takes a family-based approach to parenting, helping mothers and fathers learn strategies to support their children’s development together. Alongside her own research, Christina has worked on a variety of projects, including studies on child physical activity and obesity and how technology can be utilised to improve physical wellbeing.

She has worked as a Course Coordinator and Academic Tutor at the University of South Australian and completed a Research Fellowship at the University of Melbourne, working in the ‘Tuning in to Kids’ research team. In addition to her research, Christina completed a Masters of Psychology (Clinical) in 2023, which enabled her to combine research and clinical practice to support family and child wellbeing.
Christina is involved in Young Mercy Links South Australia – a network of young people passionate about social justice, advocacy, education and celebrating community connectedness.
