A copper figure of Christ, ‘our leader, our protector, our friend’, was the first work in Adelaide of the renowned Australian sculptor Tom Bass.

Argentinean Mosaic

The Argentinean Mosaic was created by the children of the barrios in Buenos Aires and made from discarded materials. It was purchased by SAC teacher, Craig Evans, when he was working in the barrios communities.

Sr Judith Redden began the tradition of acquiring a Year 12 student artwork to display in the foyer as a celebration of the talents of our senior students and an ongoing source of inspiration for students.

The Processional Cross was commissioned for the St Aloysius College 130 Year celebrations in 2010. It was designed and created by local artist Rory Richardson along with small groups of SAC students.

The mosaic depicts the four Principals of St Aloysius College who have buildings named after them. It was designed and created to celebrate 130 years of Mercy Education at SAC.

The tiled mural was created by English as an Additional Language teachers and students. Each student created a tile to reflect the theme ‘My Heart, My Home, My Community’.

The wardli art installation was a collaborative project led by First Nations artist Cedric Varcoe. It represents the journeys of First Nations students’ past, present and future at St Aloysius College.

Catherine McAuley Sculpture

The sculpture of Catherine McAuley, founder of the Mercy Sisters, was created by Adelaide sculptors Meliesa Judge, to celebrate the centenary of the Cunningham Memorial Chapel.
