SAC Old Scholars

Katherine Sortini attended St Aloysius College from 2006 to 2014. During her time at SAC, she was House Captain for St Teresa, played beach volleyball, soccer and SSAPSASA netball. In her senior years Katherine was a Peer Support Leader, a member of the silver medal-winning Senior Debating team and also won a Language Exchange Scholarship to Rome in 2012/2013.

Katherine was actively involved in drama productions throughout her schooling and after graduation, continued this passion by attending the Flinders Drama Centre, graduating with an Honours Degree in Creative Arts (Drama) and is now a professional actor.

In 2020 she played the role of Nancy in the State Theatre Company of South Australia’s production, Gaslight. She has also performed in the South Australian Playwrights Theatre’s production of Bordertown during the 2020 Fringe as well as her own 2021 Fringe show, Baby, what blessings. In 2020, Katherine started her own independent theatre company, Deux Ex Femina.

Katherine has since returned to SAC to run acting workshops for senior Drama students, sharing contemporary performance techniques and has also performed Baby, What Blessings at the school. In 2023, she won the South Australian Poetry Slam and performed at Adelaide Writers’ Week in 2024.

In 2025, she received the Frank Ford Memorial Young Achiever Award at the Ruby Awards, which recognise outstanding artists, creatives, and organisations demonstrating innovation, collaboration and inspirational leadership. In 2026, she was appointed Creative Director of the Feast Festival, helping to deliver community-focused cultural experiences across South Australia’s arts scene.
