The earliest recorded whole-school concert was held in 1943, with the entire program devoted to Longfellow’s The Song of Hiawatha. Costuming a cast of three hundred students during wartime rationing called for remarkable ingenuity from the Sisters, parents and students alike.

When Sr Janet Mead began teaching at St Aloysius College in 1969, school productions became a regular feature of the College calendar. Her enthusiasm, dedication and musical talent gave rise to a succession of memorable productions, including Godspell, Jesus Christ Superstar and The Mikado.

This tradition of school productions continues at St Aloysius College today. For many students, these experiences are memorable not only for the opportunity to perform on stage, but also for the lasting friendships and sense of community they foster.
