The water feature and commemorative plaque were installed in the Mitchell Courtyard and unveiled on 2 June 2011 to mark National Reconciliation Week and acknowledge that St Aloysius College is situated on Kaurna land.
The plaque on the water wall was unveiled by Muriel van der Byl, an artist and woman of Kaurna descent. She likened the flowing waterfall to the River Torrens, where her great-grandmother was born many years ago.
In 2022, the water feature was removed to make way for the new playground.
